Strata Networks is one of the fastest growing communication cooperatives in Utah, and has chosen Ekinops360 from Ekinops as the platform to upgrade its optical transmission network.

Strata is headquartered in Roosevelt, Utah, with a network spanning the Uintah Basin, the Vasatch Front, and Denver. The cooperative continues to expand and improve its fiber optic footprint to differentiate its telephone, video, broadband, and wireless services for residential and commercial customers in the region.

Strata's service areas are characterized by rugged terrain and diverse population structure, including medium-sized cities and remote rural areas. In order to serve all these areas, regardless of size or location, and provide unified and powerful performance, Strata recognizes the need for a reliable transportation solution to provide scalable and cost-effective transportation capacity.

By utilizing the Ekinops360 optical solution and the 200G and 400G FlexRate ™  The module and Ekinops' advanced network management system Celestis NMS, Strata can expand the scope and performance of its optical transmission network, extending the 100G link to its access point in Denver, providing services to customers in Colorado.

The Ekinops platform not only provides Strata with greater capacity at lower costs, but also addresses sustainability issues.
Ekinops PM400FR05 uses high-power pluggable coherent optical devices to provide up to 400G of metropolitan/regional connectivity capacity at a lower cost than traditional repeaters. In addition, Celestis NMS allows Strata to fully control its network. Celestis' interface allows Strata to monitor, troubleshoot, and upgrade any node's services from a centralized network operations center, thereby minimizing on-site services and helping Strata reduce its carbon footprint.

Brent Simmons, Vice President of Strata Technology, said, "Ekinops can strengthen and provide everything we need to improve network performance, so that we can continue to provide our well-known quality of service. Celestis NMS left a particularly deep impression on us, providing us with unprecedented levels of visibility and control. Its interface makes it easy to use, so we can quickly and effectively manage the network from day one.
