High performance optoelectronic device developer "Micro Source Photon" completes B+round financing

Recently, Weiyuan Photon (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Weiyuan Photon") announced the completion of a B+round of financing, with investors including Yicun Capital, Chenfeng Capital, and Beijing Guoqian Investment. The specific amount has not been disclosed.

 


According to its official website, MicroSource Photonics was founded in November 2018, with the main members of the founding team coming from Peking University (founded by Dr. Zhu Xiaoqi from Peking University). They have been engaged in the development and research of new optoelectronic technologies for many years and have achieved fruitful research results.

The company has multiple optoelectronic technology invention patents, and the Shenzhen headquarters, Beijing branch, and Zhangjiagang subsidiary jointly form a complete system from chip design/production/packaging and testing to laser and module design and production.

At present, Micro Source Photonics has a complete system from chip design/production/packaging to laser and module design/production. Its main products include narrow linewidth semiconductor frequency stabilized lasers and modules, narrow linewidth semiconductor frequency modulated lasers and modules, photonic crystal lasers, etc. The products are widely used in laser measurement (LiDAR, ranging surveying, 3D scanning), high-speed coherent optical communication, chip level atomic clocks, millimeter wave communication, cutting-edge scientific research and education, and many other fields.

It is worth noting that Micro Source Photon has multiple patents, such as "Narrow Linewidth Laser for Coherent Lidar", in the core components of optoelectronic sensors. This not only consolidates the company's leading position in cutting-edge technologies such as LiDAR, but also provides solid technical support for the company's layout in emerging industries such as autonomous driving, drones, and robots.

In recent years, Weiyuan Photon has obtained a lot of financing, almost maintaining an annual financing rhythm and attracting the attention of many well-known investment institutions:

In January 2022, it was announced that it had obtained Series B financing from investors including Xiaomi Production Investment, Shunwei Capital, Hubble Investment, Zhengxuan Investment, Beijing Guoqian Investment, and Sequoia China;

In March 2021, it was announced that it had obtained Series A financing from Tongwei Capital as the investor;

In August 2020, it was announced that it had obtained angel round financing from Qianhai Furong Investment and Chenfeng Capital.
