What is the actual service life of portable laser cleaning machines for factory daily use?

Many metal processing factories intend to replace traditional pickling and manual polishing with handheld laser cleaning equipment. I want to consult peers in the industry about two practical questions:

  1. Under 6-8 hours of daily continuous operation, how many years can the core laser module run stably?
  2. For cleaning welding spots, rust and oil stains on precision hardware, what daily maintenance work is necessary to extend the machine's service life?

Factory owners and technical engineers with actual application experience are welcome to share real operation data and cost comparisons between laser cleaning and traditional processes.

  • Some manufacturers advertise that the equipment can be used for decades, but in reality, the service life of the equipment is greatly affected by three factors: usage intensity, working environment, and maintenance level. For example, in harsh working conditions with high levels of dust, the lifespan of the core components of the equipment may be shortened by 40% -60%. Considering the actual environment, a more realistic expectation is that even if the core laser itself is reliable, its surrounding vulnerable parts and optical components (such as protective lenses, galvanometers, focusing lenses, etc.) usually need to be replaced or maintained on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis according to usage. Therefore, the stable operating life of the equipment largely depends on the quality of maintenance and cost investment in the later stage.
