Back up all settings, uninstall RDWorks, and then reinstall it. Re-import the settings and check again.

How can I fix a "communication failure" when using RDWorks with a Dowin CO₂ laser?
Hi everyone,
I’m running into a communication issue when using RDWorks with my Dowin 6090 CO₂ laser, and the software keeps showing a “Communication failure” error. I had the same problem a few months ago and was told it was caused by a damaged data cable. Replacing the cable fixed it at the time, but now the issue has returned. I’ve already tried three different cables and the problem still hasn’t gone away.
Has anyone experienced something similar with a Dowin machine or RDWorks? Aside from the data cable, what other components are common causes of communication failures—such as the controller, USB port, power supply, grounding, or firmware? Local laser service providers here only support their own machines and can’t help me troubleshoot, and I currently have pending orders, so I’m pretty stuck. Any troubleshooting advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Common causes include poor USB port contact, aging of the motherboard USB chip, abnormal computer USB driver, or interference caused by poor grounding.
In practice, USB communication can easily be affected by static or electromagnetic interference, especially when the laser power supply starts up. Many users recommend switching to Ethernet if the controller supports it, which is usually much more stable.
You should also check that the internal USB port solder joints are solid, the controller power is stable, and the machine is properly grounded. If the issue persists even when testing on another PC, it’s likely that the controller’s USB port itself is starting to fail.
