Lightburn Camera not working at specified distance

I have purchased the Lightburn 5mp-150 with Aspect 1.333. The Camera selection help table indicated that the minimum mounting 8.75". I have the camera mounted at 11’ from the laser bed and it will not capture the dot pattern. It will capture the same pattern when I raise the camera to 12" or higher.
I do not have the space to keep the camera at 12" or higher. How do I resolve this problem? I bought this camera because it can be mounted as low as 8.75".

      Here are two options:

1. Print the calibration pattern smaller
2. Do the lens calibration away from the bed. It need not be mounted to the laser during lens calibration although I think it makes sense to have the distance to material as close to the desired mounting distance as possible.
