CO2 cutting and carving control system, keeps moving after pressing the key once

Clarence

When using the CO2 cutting and carving control system, if the button does not move or keeps moving after pressing the button once, the following points can be followed for troubleshooting and handling.

1.  It is necessary to check whether communication between the mainboard and the control panel is functioning properly. If communication between the mainboard and panel is abnormal—for example, due to data loss, repeated commands, or communication delays—the mainboard may fail to correctly receive the “stop” command, resulting in continuous motion even though the key was pressed only once. In this case, the communication cables should be inspected for looseness, poor contact, or interference, and the firmware versions of both the panel and mainboard should be checked for compatibility. Power cycling or firmware updates may also help resolve the issue.

2. It is important to verify whether the jog (incremental movement) distance parameter is set appropriately. If the jog distance is set too small, the system may execute overlapping movement commands during a jog, which can appear as continuous movement. Conversely, if the jog distance is set too large, the machine may take a longer time to complete a single jog, making it seem like the motion does not stop. Therefore, the jog distance should be configured within a reasonable range to ensure both operational precision and normal behavior.

3. Check whether hard limit protection is enabled and whether the limit signal has been triggered. When hard limit protection is activated, the control system may enter an abnormal protection or buffer state, causing motion logic to become inconsistent and resulting in continuous movement or delayed stopping. The limit switches, photoelectric sensors, or associated wiring should be inspected to eliminate false triggers or signal interference.

4. Attention should be given to the key press acceleration settings. If the acceleration is set too low, the system will have a longer deceleration and buffer time before stopping, which manifests as prolonged motion. Adjusting the acceleration to an appropriate value can allow the machine to complete acceleration and deceleration more quickly, improving responsiveness.
