Lumentum, a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative optical and photonic products, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of a site in Caswell, UK.

Lumentum revealed that it has made significant investments in the site over the past two years and is currently undergoing development upgrades for its state-of-the-art cleanrooms and laboratories to continue to support the development of new products.

Caswell has been at the heart of the UK's semiconductor and industrial technology innovation for decades. Lumentum said it was excited to establish a broader presence in the region.

Lumentum recently announced the latest financial results, the fourth quarter of fiscal 2023 to achieve net revenue of $371 million, down 12%. Among them, the optical communication business revenue was 321 million US dollars (87.8%), and the laser business revenue was 50.3 million US dollars (about 12.2%). For the full fiscal year 2023, Lumentum reported revenue of $1.767 billion, an increase of 3.2% over the same period last year. Among them, optical communication business revenue of 1.557 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.6%; Laser revenue was $209 million, up 7.8% year-over-year.

"With intergenerational upgrades to the network backbone and increased customer activity in data center AI, we expect year-over-year growth in telecommunications and data communications through 2024," said Alan Lowe, president and CEO of Lumentum.
