How should I choose between the different Ruida controller models?

Among Ruida controllers, the 6445 series is the most reliable, handling X/Y/Z plus a rotary axis, perfect for a 100W CO₂ laser, and works great with LightBurn. The 6442 is also solid and supports a rotary, but the interface is a bit dated. The 6332G is good for basic three-axis setups, with limited rotary support, while the low-end 5121 isn’t worth it—two axes just aren’t enough.

I’m using the RDC6442, and the 6445 is basically its upgraded version and costs more, but I don’t think it’s necessary. I hardly ever use the screen on the controller, and the keypad on the 6442 works fine for me.

For software, I use RDWorks. I personally don’t use LightBurn because I don’t find it necessary. All my design work is done in CorelDRAW, then exported as .AI or DXF files and imported into RDWorks.

As a control system software, RDWorks is pretty solid—I’ve been using it for years, and it’s free. Most importantly, it’s developed by Ruida itself, so I think it has better compatibility with Ruida controllers compared to LightBurn.

You should prioritize the 6442 series; I think it offers the best value for money.
