Solution for USB Access Failure in CO2 Cutting and Carving Control System

If your CO2 cutting and carving control system encounters a problem of USB access failure, you can follow the following methods to troubleshoot and handle it:

 

1. Check whether the USB drive file format is correct
   CO2 laser cutting and engraving control systems usually only support FAT or FAT32 file system formats. If the USB drive is formatted as NTFS, exFAT, or other formats, the controller may not recognize it, which can cause USB access failure. The user can insert the USB drive into a computer and check the file system format in the drive properties. If the format is incorrect, it is recommended to back up important data first, then reformat the USB drive to FAT or FAT32 on the computer, and finally copy the required files back to the USB drive.

 

2. Check the file location and the number of files in the root directory
   When importing processing files using a USB drive, the target files should preferably be placed directly in the root directory of the USB drive rather than in multiple folder levels, because some controllers have limited support for deep folder structures. At the same time, check whether there are too many files in the root directory. If the number of files is too large, the controller may take longer to search for files or may fail to read them. It is recommended to keep only the necessary files and remove unnecessary ones to improve the success rate of file recognition and reading.

 

3. Try using a smaller capacity USB drive
   Some controllers have limited compatibility with high-capacity USB drives, especially those with capacities of 8GB or larger. In such cases, the system may not recognize the drive properly or may fail to access it. This is because some earlier control systems have limited support for large-capacity storage devices. When this problem occurs, it is recommended to try using a smaller capacity USB drive, such as 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB, which often improves the success rate of file reading and ensures that files can be imported and used normally.
