Z axis drop down setting

Assuming that the machine functions in a typical way this should be correct.

"or should I go to .75 or even a full mm?"
This is more about your specific needs and the material to be cut so impossible to generalize. I’d suggest running some tests to see if there’s actually an improvement and to dial-in the best settings.
