Recently, the Fraunhofer Institute (HHI) has developed a technology for processing aluminum alloy materials using reactive gas assisted nanosecond lasers, which can be used to produce electronic box samples for spacecraft manufacturing. This development project is part of the NanoBLAST project, in close collaboration with thermal engineering company Azimut Space GmbH, aimed at manufacturing surface structures with high thermal radiation properties using efficient and cost-effective strategies.

The nanosecond laser process for manufacturing aluminum alloy spacecraft electronic boxes is currently being tested. The image is provided by Fraunhofer HHI.

According to the organization, the cost of processing electronic boxes using this technology is controllable. This progress is different from previous projects that relied on femtosecond laser systems, which can achieve the same goal and form a sharp contrast. Researchers are currently working on transferring the laser structures developed by the institute from laboratory conditions of flat plates to real components with curvature, non-uniformity, and concavity.

Conservation of energy is a fundamental concept in physics that can be used to explain anything from planetary orbits to the internal workings of individual atoms.Energy can be converted into other forms, but the overall energy level is usually considered to vary over time. Therefore, when attempting to describe a system, physicists usually pay attention to ensuring that it is isolated from the su...
