Recently, TroGroup, a family owned laser giant operating globally in Austria, announced a major strategic move - the successful acquisition of Luxinar Ltd., a leading laser source manufacturer based in Hull, UK. This move marks a new level of TroGroup's technological leadership in the field of laser sources.

Through this acquisition, Luxinar, with its approximately 200 elite team and over 25 years of accumulated laser technology, has become an important supporting force for TroGroup's latest division, Iradion Laser.

TroGroup CEO Bernd Badurek said:
After Trodat stamp production and Trotec laser plotter, Iradion has officially become the third pillar of our group by integrating Luxinar. Our deep investment in the field of laser sources stems from a firm belief in the enormous growth potential of this field.

After this acquisition, TroGroup's Iradion laser source product line has been fully upgraded, covering a wide range of choices from multiple technologies, powers, wavelengths to pulse durations, providing customers with an unprecedented range of rich solutions.

A report by market research firm SPHERECAL INSIGHTS states that the global laser technology market size will grow from $16.83 billion in 2023 to $34.07 billion in 2033, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.31% during the forecast period. And both parties involved in this merger are also expected to share a big cake from this market.

Luxinar, as a company with a strong foundation in Hull, UK, is renowned in the industry for its manufacturing capability of up to 1000 watts of laser sources and innovative technology in femtosecond laser sources.

Its global sales network covers countries and regions such as Germany, Italy, the United States, China, and South Korea, serving diversified industrial fields such as semiconductors, electronic manufacturing, packaging, textiles, automobiles, and medical technology. It has installed over 25000 lasers and can perform various processing methods such as ablation, cutting, drilling, marking, perforation, marking, and welding. The data shows that its current annual revenue is nearly 40 million euros.

In 1998, Luxinar was founded in Willoughby, Kingston upon Hull, UK, and was still part of the global Rofin Sina group at that time. In the same year, the first batch of CO ₂ laser sources were shipped, followed by the first MULTISCAN dot matrix laser marking machine in 1999.

In 2016, we moved to a state-of-the-art factory specifically built in Hessle, Kingston upon Hull, UK. The building is divided into two floors, providing 7500 square meters of manufacturing space and future expansion space. The factory is conveniently located, close to transportation networks leading to other parts of the UK and around the world.

Looking back at TroGroup's growth trajectory in the field of laser sources, since acquiring Iradion Laser Inc. in the United States ten years ago, this well-known laser company has continuously consolidated and expanded its market presence.

Now that Luxinar has joined, it undoubtedly brings a double leap in revenue and employee numbers to Iradion. At the same time, the product portfolio has expanded to more future oriented high-tech fields, covering the processing and application of various materials such as technical ceramics, glass, textiles, etc.

Andreas Penz, CEO of Iradion, pointed out that China and the United States are key growth poles in the global laser source market, and Luxinar's relatively blank market in the United States provides broad expansion space for Iradion. Through our global infrastructure, we will significantly enhance Luxinar's market coverage and drive the development of innovative specialized equipment. "He also revealed that TroGroup has installed over 35000 laser sources worldwide and continues to provide strong support to sister companies such as Trotec.

TroGroup CEO Bernd Badurek warmly welcomes Luxinar's 200 new members to join the TroGroup family and embark on a new chapter in laser source technology together:
This acquisition will maximize synergies and help us maintain our leading position in the global laser source market and technology field.

Public information shows that as a globally leading diversified enterprise group, TroGroup owns three well-known brands: Trodat, Trotec, and Iradion, which respectively occupy leading positions in seal manufacturing, laser plotters, and laser sources.

The three main business pillars of TroGroup: Trodat is the world's largest stamp manufacturer, Trotec is the global market leader in laser plotters, and Iradion is the global market leader in ceramic CO2 laser sources.

In 1997, Trotec Laser GmbH was established
In 2021, Trodat Trotec Holding GmbH was renamed TroGroup GmbH
Trodat celebrates its 110th anniversary and Trotec celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2022. The acquisition of InnoLas Photonics in Germany in the same year further enhanced its technological strength.
In 2023, Iradion officially debuted as an independent department, achieving a turnover of nearly 25 million euros and having 85 global employees, becoming an important third pillar of the group. Starting from January 1, 2023, the new department will be independently managed under the brand name "Iradion".
According to the financial report, TroGroup achieved a turnover of 303 million euros in the 2023 fiscal year, with a total of 1970 employees worldwide and business coverage in over 150 countries, with an export rate of up to 98%. The headquarters of the group is located in Wels, Austria, which is the core base for research and development and production, while Trotec's production and sales center is adjacent to Marchtrenk.

The holding structure of TroGroup highlights the solid foundation of its family business, with the M ü ller Just family foundation holding 74.9% of the shares and the owners of Lower Austrian IW Group holding the remaining 25.1%.
