U-Drive not working in Dual beam configuration.

I am using RDUnion software to configure the sustem, but can't get U-drive to work in Dual beam.

I would apreciate if anybody can help.

    I got it working by Plugging U1 to U2. All Seems to be working Well.

  • This is most likely because the dual-beam mode is occupying the physical output channel corresponding to the U-axis (typically an analog voltage output to the galvanometer), leaving no output path for the U-drive signal you originally used to control the external motor.

    First, ensure that dual-beam mode is properly enabled at the hardware level, not just checked in the software.

    Check the configuration file: Make sure you are not using a CFG file intended for single-beam mode. In the RDUNION software, open your configuration and check the “Port Configuration” or “Scanner Configuration” settings.

    Typically, you need to set it to “Dual-Head Stitching” or “Dual-Head Interconnected” mode. In dual-beam machining, you generally use “Dual-Head Stitching” mode (where both heads process different parts of the same large-format graphic) or “Dual-Head Asynchronous/Interconnected” mode (where both heads process different content).

    XY-Axis Mapping: Verify that the XY-axis output ports for the first galvo (typically the primary head) and the second galvo (secondary head) have been correctly assigned. For example, the primary head uses X/Y, while the secondary head uses U/V or the second set of DAC outputs.

    If you must use U-drive in dual-beam mode, you need to confirm that the control card has spare pulse axis interfaces (such as stepper motor pulse ports) to perform the U-drive function, rather than using analog signal channels. Please check your hardware wiring: ensure that the U-drive control signals are connected to the correct pulse ports, rather than the analog ports occupied by the galvanometers.

  • Thank you everybody for all the help I got to fix the problems so far. Every awnser helped me.

  • We had it set to Dual Cantilever before and the U-Drive was working perfect. Then a Ruida Engineer change the configiration to Dual Beam. Since the change over, the U1-drive would not work.
