Two plywood rectangular cutouts are not aligned

Did you check if your laser bed is perfectly leveled and square?

Some things to check:

Step/mm calibration is correct for both axes
Both diagonals of a big square are 1.414 × side length
Laser beam is perpendicular to platform
No mechanical backlash
