Abnormal movement of cutting head in CO2 cutting and engraving control system
The cutting head movement of the CO2 cutting and engraving control system is abnormal. Initially, the cutting head kept moving upwards without stopping. When switched to manual mode, the motor movement could be controlled. However, upon switching back to automatic mode, it continued to lift upwards.
Analysis indicates several possible causes
First, the upper limit switch may be faulty or malfunctioning, preventing the control system from correctly detecting the cutting head’s maximum position.
Second, the lower limit signal, while technically valid, may remain in a triggered state, causing the system to mistakenly interpret that the cutting head has reached the lower limit, prompting continuous upward movement.
Third, the collision alarm signal may be abnormal or constantly triggered, which also interferes with the system’s position detection. Any of these signal issues can lead to the control system misjudging the cutting head’s actual position, resulting in continuous upward motion in automatic mode.
To address the problem, the following solutions are recommended.
First, check whether the upper limit switch is functioning properly to ensure reliable mechanical travel detection. If the switch is damaged, it should be replaced or reinstalled to restore correct signal feedback.
Second, the collision alarm and limit functions can be temporarily disabled via system parameters to observe whether the cutting head movement returns to normal. If the issue disappears, it indicates that the abnormal behavior is related to the limit switch or collision alarm signals.
Additionally, verify that the limit switch polarity matches the control system settings; a mismatch could cause signals to trigger in reverse, leading to misjudgment of the cutting head position and continuous upward motion. By systematically checking the hardware and adjusting the parameters, the root cause can be identified, and normal cutting head movement restored, ensuring machining accuracy and equipment safety.
