After two and a half years of construction, Jenoptik Jenoptik Group's new factory in Dresden, Germany has been officially completed, marking the company's largest single investment in recent times. Jenoptik stated that by expanding its production and research and development capabilities in micro optical devices, it will provide high-precision sensor production technology for high-performance chips, including artificial intelligence applications. At present, the factory has officially opened on May 6, 2025.

Dr. Stefan Traeger, President and CEO of Jenoptik, stated that this is the largest single investment in the company's recent history, with an investment amount of nearly 100 million euros. In the severe environment of constantly rising prices and scarce resources, this is undoubtedly an extraordinary achievement.

It is understood that this high-tech factory currently has nearly 100 employees, and factories previously distributed throughout Dresden have now been integrated under the same roof. The new factory has significantly improved the production capacity of technologically advanced micro optical devices and sensors. These devices are mainly used in semiconductor lithography and detection systems, and can also be used in laser material processing systems, etc.

The semiconductor equipment industry is the most important application area for micro optical devices produced by the Dresden factory. For example, micro optical sensors can achieve precise positioning of wafers in the photolithography process of chip manufacturing. The application areas include deep ultraviolet (DUV) and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography.

In addition to Dresden, Jenoptik also has production bases in Jena and Triptis in Thuringia, Hilbrug in Switzerland, Jupiter in Florida, and Huntsville in Alabama, USA, producing high-precision and micro optical components. At present, the group has approximately 4600 employees worldwide.
