Solution for RDC/V6555G Controller Button Movement with XY Axis Unchanged

Jerome

For the issue of no response on the XY axis when the RDC6555G and RDV6555G controller buttons move, the following steps can be followed to troubleshoot each one:

1. Check whether the wiring is correct
First, power off the machine and inspect the signal cables, power cables, and limit switch wires between the controller and the drivers for looseness or poor contact. Pay special attention to the Pulse (PUL), Direction (DIR), and Enable (ENA) connections to ensure they are firmly connected. Also check for oxidation, burning, or broken wires at the terminals. Re-crimp or reconnect wires if necessary to prevent poor contact from causing the axes not to move.

2. Verify the main board parameter settings
Enter the system parameter interface and confirm that the motor type, pulse equivalent, direction polarity, and soft limit settings are correct. Incorrect parameter settings may result in no output signal when operating the buttons. Compare with factory default parameters or restore from a backup file if needed. Also ensure that the axes are not locked or in an alarm state.

3. Replace the control board for testing
If wiring and parameters are normal, replace the controller board with a board of the same model for comparison testing. This helps determine whether the output port is damaged or if there is an internal circuit failure. Be sure to back up parameters before replacement to avoid data loss.

4. Check the servo drive parameters
Confirm that the servo driver has no active alarms and that the enable signal is valid. Verify that the control mode (pulse + direction), electronic gear ratio, and input signal level settings match the controller requirements. Incorrect parameters or an uncleared protection state in the driver may also prevent the XY axes from moving.

  • Last week I encountered the same issue, and after troubleshooting for a long time, I found it was just a wiring problem
