Solution for the laser not emitting light when using RDWorksV8

Gary

When using RDWorksV8 for processing, if you encounter the problem of the laser not emitting light, you can follow the following methods to troubleshoot and solve it:

1. Check the Water Protection
First, check if the water protection system is malfunctioning. Ensure that the water is circulating properly. If the water protection system is faulty, you can temporarily short-circuit the water protection to allow the laser to operate, but this is only a temporary solution. It is best to repair or replace the water protection system to prevent damage to the laser.

2. Check the Laser Power Supply
Perform a dot test and check if the current meter fluctuates. If it does not, use a multimeter to check if the laser power supply is receiving 220V input. If the input is correct but the laser still does not emit light, it is likely that the power supply is faulty and needs to be replaced.

3. Short-circuit +5V and AIN
To test the laser output, short-circuit the +5V and AIN terminals and observe whether the laser emits light. If the laser emits light, the potentiometer is likely faulty and should be replaced.

4. Check for DC Voltage
Check if there is a DC voltage of 3V or more in the system. If this voltage is present, the board is working correctly. If there is no voltage, there may be an issue with the signal board, and it should be checked or replaced.

5. Check the "Enable" Parameter
In the manufacturer's settings, ensure that the "Enable Parameter" is set to "Yes". If it is set to "No", the laser will not function.

6. Check Layer Parameters
In RDWorksV8, check the layer parameters and ensure that the “Output” option is set to "Yes". If it is set to "No", the laser will not fire even if other components are functioning properly.

7. If Laser 2 Is Not Emitting Light
If Laser 2 is not emitting light, check the manufacturer's settings for the "Laser Tube Configuration". Make sure it is set to "Single Tube" if only one laser is being used. If it is set incorrectly to a multi-tube configuration, the second laser will not fire.
