On August 31st, Tianjin Kaipulin Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Kaipulin), a Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone enterprise, officially released the world's first 200000 watt ultra-high power industrial grade fiber laser, breaking the record for the highest power of industrial grade fiber lasers in the world and marking China's stable position in the international advanced field.

As the mainstream direction of laser technology development and the main force of laser industry applications, fiber lasers are widely used in industrial processing and scientific research fields. Ultra high power fiber lasers, with their advantages of higher laser power, stronger cutting capability, and faster processing speed, are gradually replacing traditional high pollution and high-energy consumption processing methods such as flame cutting and plasma cutting, and helping traditional manufacturing industries transform and upgrade.

Following the release of the world's first 150000 watt ultra-high power industrial grade fiber laser in March this year, Keplin has successfully surpassed its new target of 200000 watts of power. It is reported that the key technology of Keplin's 200000 watt product has independent intellectual property rights, with 12 authorized invention patents, 11 utility model patents, and 1 design patent. This laser, with its chip integration technology, ultra-high power beam combining and output technology, femtosecond laser fiber grating engraving technology, and other innovative breakthroughs, greatly improves the efficiency of metal ultra thick plate processing. For example, the cutting operation that used to take 3 to 5 minutes to complete with a 60000 watt fiber laser is expected to be completed in just 1 minute after upgrading to a 200000 watt power, "Jin Dongchen, the head of research and development at Keplin High Power Laser, told reporters.

Zhou Shouhuan, an academician of the CAE Member and an expert in optoelectronics and laser technology, said that in the field of high-power fiber lasers, Chinese laser enterprises represented by Capprin are actively engaged in innovative research and development. The world's highest power industrial grade fiber laser released this time will open up broader space for industrial manufacturing, national defense security, scientific research exploration and other fields, indicating that a new wave of industrial upgrading and transformation will sweep across.

While challenging the power limit, Keplin ultra-high power fiber lasers have been widely used in industrial processing, scientific research, and other fields. On the same day, domestic leading laser cutting equipment enterprise Jinweike and Keplin signed an intention to cooperate agreement, and the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of ultra-high power laser applications, jointly promoting technology transformation and industrial upgrading.

Tianjin is the main production base of Keplin. In 2021, the first phase of the automated factory invested and constructed by Keplin in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone was put into operation and achieved full load operation. In May of this year, the second phase of the intelligent chemical plant began trial production. Currently, the third phase of the project is being intensively constructed. Gan Lu, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Management Committee, stated that as a technology innovation enterprise, Keplin's research and development achievements have provided a good demonstration effect for attracting more high-end manufacturing enterprises and R&D institutions to settle in the bonded zone. The bonded zone will continue to optimize the business environment and provide strong guarantees for the innovative development of enterprises. After the completion of the third phase of the project, Keplin will further strengthen the coordinated development of its semiconductor, fiber optic, and ultrafast business units, accurately connect diversified industrial processing needs, drive the coordinated development of upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, break the dependence on high-end laser imports, and help the development of China's industrial processing and other fields, "said Jin Dongchen.
