Recently, WEC Group, a leading engineering and manufacturing company in the UK, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Laser Profiles Ltd, a precision laser cutting leader in Bournemouth.

For over 40 years, WEC Group has been providing manufacturing, laser cutting, precision machining, waterjet cutting, powder coating, and CCTV installation solutions.

The company stated that the acquisition of Laser Profiles Ltd is part of its long-term growth strategy aimed at expanding its business scope across the UK and strengthening its market leading position in outsourcing manufacturing.

Laser profiles Ltd has a business history of over 25 years and has established its leadership position in providing customized laser cutting and manufacturing solutions in multiple key supply chains in South England. This new partnership aims to leverage the unique advantages of both companies, optimize production capacity, and enhance services to customers in various industries.

Laser profiles Ltd has a range of advanced technological equipment, including a fully automated state-of-the-art Trumpf fiber laser machine that can perform high-quality cutting at extremely high speeds. The company also has an Adige fiber optic tube laser machine, which enables it to provide customers with profiles such as round tubes, square tubes, angle steel, and channel steel.

In addition, they also have a complete set of internal manufacturing service capabilities, including precision sheet metal processing and welding.

WEC Group was founded in 1979 and currently has approximately 900 employees, consisting of 15 departments. Its business covers multiple industries such as aerospace and defense, oil and gas, nuclear energy, mining, and automotive.

Whether it's laser cutting, waterjet cutting, plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC stamping, certified welding and manufacturing, heavy-duty engineering, robot bending, powder coating/wet spraying, sandblasting, or stainless steel manufacturing for construction, the company can efficiently meet the needs of subcontracting projects and metal processing. The group also operates its own internal training academy, providing apprenticeship training in welding/manufacturing, CNC machining, and laser/bending operations.

Due to continuous investment, the group has experienced significant growth in the past few years. In addition to the Darwin headquarters, the company currently operates in multiple manufacturing sites and offices in Lancashire, Merseyside, Yorkshire, Lanarkshire, and West Midlands, with a total manufacturing area of approximately 700000 square feet.

Through cooperation with WEC Group, Laser Profiles will be able to access more advanced technological resources and a wider market. At present, WEC Group has become one of the largest metal processing and manufacturing companies in the UK, with 25 laser cutting machines, 23 bending machines, 3 waterjet cutting machines, high-precision plasma cutting machines, as well as more than 40 CNC machine tools, 200 skilled welders, 13 robot welding units, and a full set of internal powder coating and wet paint coating capabilities.

James Pickles, Service Center Manager at WEC Group, said, "The addition of Laser Profiles to WEC Group is another important milestone in our expansion plan. As our first manufacturing base in the south of the UK, it will open the door to further growth and enable us to reach new target markets. This acquisition allows us to leverage the synergies between the two, enhance our ability to meet customer needs, and further shorten manufacturing cycles.

WEC Group has accumulated rich successful experience in past mergers and acquisitions, including the acquisition of metal manufacturing expert MTL Advanced in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, the acquisition of subcontractor HTA Group for laser cutting parts, metal plate components, and assemblies in Coventry, West Midlands, and the acquisition of 5750 Components in Northley, Merseyside. Each acquisition strategically expands WEC's capabilities and further market coverage, demonstrating its commitment to excellent quality in the UK manufacturing supply chain.

The merger and integration of Laser profiles Ltd will benefit all stakeholders, existing employees will have growth and promotion opportunities within a larger organization, and customers will also enjoy more comprehensive services, thereby improving supply chain efficiency and providing greater value to customers.

James Pickles added, "We look forward to a smooth integration and anticipate achieving the expected revenue through this acquisition. Laser profiles will effectively serve as our gateway to the southern market, and we have very ambitious plans to leverage our industry expertise to significantly scale up its business
