AMC Cinema has long been known as the largest cinema operator in the United States and the world, and has completed upgrades to almost all its venues in the broader Chicago area, including advanced laser projection technology.

The technological reform of this chain of stores has made Chicago one of the first areas in AMC's footprint to benefit from CinIonic's cutting-edge projection technology.

In early 2022, AMC publicly announced an agreement with CinIonic to equip its 3500 cinemas in the United States with laser projectors by 2026. Promoting such improvements to its "AMC Laser" banner is estimated to cost $250 million.

With the advanced laser projection technology of our partner CinIonic, fans who experience Laser movies at AMC can enjoy the enhanced features of chain cinemas, such as higher contrast, peak brightness, and richer colors.

The two companies also claim that their large-scale cinema technology upgrade is an "environmentally friendly method" for movies, as it reduces waste by significantly reducing energy consumption and eliminating the demand for disposable xenon bulbs.

"Every time you see Laser on AMC, you can expect exciting movies to be presented on the screen in brighter, clearer, and more vibrant colors," said Adam Cassels, Vice President of Global Marketing at CinIonic. Together with AMC, we are raising the standards for the entire Chicago cinema experience.

AMC River East 21 and AMC DINE-IN 600 North Michigan 9 are among the other nearby cinemas newly equipped with Cinenic laser projection technology.

After rebounding from closed cinemas nationwide throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, AMC hopes that its new technology enhancements can strengthen its role as a leader in so-called "top tier cinemas" and viewing experiences.
