Fiber laser not firing says busy but no action!

Was all excited to do the test engrave to align the laser and drew out a shape, Live frame and then nothing when I press play and it says busy and the timer starts but no action? Laser says ready? but no action hmmmm is it something simple I am overlooking?

      It’s quite a surprise when it doesn’t appear to do anything… a few mm and it starts burning a hole in your object…
Focus is rather critical… the shorter the lens the shorter the depth of field…
