Tiedra Famaceutica was founded by members of the Tiedra family in 2003 and is a manufacturer of contact lenses, health and ophthalmic products, as well as diagnostic instruments used in optometry and ophthalmic clinics.

Before installing the SPA2 CB laser model for Macsa id, Tiedra used a pantograph, which is a quadrilateral system composed of hinged rods. This manual process provides limited marking options, and the serial number will fade over time, making it difficult for customers to recognize.

The engineering department of Macsa ID has worked closely with Tiedra to develop a customized solution to meet the special requirements of the application. The challenge lies in developing a laser system that can provide extremely high precision marking on surfaces with font sizes less than one millimeter.

After conducting in-depth research on the problem, Macsa id's engineers decided that the best solution would be to adjust their SPA2 CB 10W IP65 level laser marking system to apply serial numbers to precision contact lenses.
The SPA2 CB model provides improvements in both marking quality and durability. In addition, the new automation process is faster than pantograph-based systems, and the recognition and control results far exceed the requirements of Tedra.

By using laser marking technology, any alphanumeric text can be etched onto the surface of contact lenses. The marking process can be designed to maintain a normal distribution on the surface of the tear film. The use of laser heads enables high visibility markings that can be read by the naked eye, making lens recognition a fast and simple task.

The iLaserbox 450 from Macsa ID is a compact, economical, and easy to install laser marking workstation. The iLaserbox 450 is easy to integrate and manage, and can safely run in standard Class 1, semi manual, and small batch marking applications. It can handle components with a maximum size of 264mmx350mm x 160mm. It is compatible with Martha's full range of laser systems.

Tiedra's Managing Director Á lvaro Garc í a de Tiedra commented, "We have found that Macsa is a world-class supplier that has set a new benchmark in laser marking related processes. Macsa has an engineering department whose mission is to adjust its products and solutions to meet customer needs.".

Macsa id's SPA2 C 10W, 30W, and 40W CO2 lasers feature a modular design that can be easily integrated with any production line, making them an ideal choice for all packaging applications. The wizard supports installation, programming, and operation, and can access online help videos, technical guides, and tips through a 10 inch handheld touchscreen controller designed to accelerate programming speed and eliminate operator errors. Laser can also be controlled directly from PC via Ethernet link or PLC with Profinet or OPC-UA.

The SPA2 connector box provides a series of communication ports, enabling the system to integrate with all components of the production line. These lasers support the Optima software of Macsa ID, enabling real-time control and compatibility with desktop printers, label printers, and label labeling machines. DUO processing technology can use variable data for high-speed and high-quality marking.
