How to check if the focus is normal?
I have a Genmitsu 3030 CNC machine with a 5.5W laser installed on it. Overall, it works normally.
My question is how to check if the focus is normal? LaserGRBL has a focus setting button. After pressing the button, the laser power will be turned on at 3%. When I observe this button through my glasses, I can hardly see the laser. Is this normal? How to check if the focus is normal?

If cutting is done with a power of 5-10W, I suggest trying a speed of 300mm/min and a power of 75-85%.
The best way to find focus is to do a ramp test.Basically try to get the dot smallest first, then with something on an angle. Go across it with low to mid power and look for the deepest or finest line. Measure between the centre of that and base of the module.Air assist helps a lot with cutting. Air compressor if you have one. Fine jet of high ptessure air at the dot site.
Use the jog controls to move the laser a short distance (100mm, say), while the focus is on. Measure the width of the line. Your optimum focal distance is when it is as narrow as possible.
