Solution to using RDVisonWorks templates to match machining accuracy that does not meet requirements
In response to the situation where the machining accuracy cannot meet the requirements when using RDVisionWorks template matching, adjustments and optimizations can be made from the following aspects to improve the matching accuracy and imaging effect:
1. Increase similarity
Similarity is a key factor in template matching accuracy. By adjusting the similarity threshold, the match between the template and the actual image can be made more precise. If the similarity is set too low, the system may make incorrect matches, leading to false negatives or false positives. Increasing similarity ensures higher matching precision and reduces the chances of errors.
2. Switch to a contrast-enhanced channel
Different color channels have varying sensitivity to image details. In template matching, choosing a channel with stronger contrast (for example, red or green, rather than blue) can enhance the feature recognition of the image. This makes the template and the actual part more distinguishable, preventing errors caused by low contrast.
3. Position the material at a fixed angle and adjust the template angle to around 20°
The angle at which the material is placed directly affects matching accuracy. If the material is not consistently positioned, matching failures may occur. To ensure stable template matching, it is recommended to place the material at a fixed angle and adjust the template angle to around 20°. This can effectively reduce angle deviations and improve matching accuracy.
4. Adjust the camera exposure time according to the material's light sensitivity
Different materials react differently to light. White or light-colored materials are more sensitive to light, and if the exposure time is too long, the image may be overexposed, affecting template matching accuracy. In this case, the camera’s exposure time should be reduced. On the other hand, black or dark materials absorb more light, so increasing the exposure time can help enhance the image brightness, making the template more defined and improving matching accuracy.
