Latitool grinding and going to the wrong home position

LightBurn plays no role in the homing process other than in requesting the cycle to begin.

"When the machine homes it goes up to the top left corner and grinders for atleast 1 minute."

Are you certain your machine has homing switches? Look for mechanical or proximity sensors that would actuate when the machine homes. If you do not, that explains the grinding. In that case, disable “Auto-home on startup” in Edit->Device Settings.
You should then follow a manual homing process by turning on the machine with the laser head at front left of the frame. Make sure to move the laser head fairly slowly as the motion induces an electrical current from the stepper motors.
