Processing using LaserGRBL, experience sharing of processing laser engraving machine moving too fast

Thomas

If you find that the laser engraving machine moves too fast during laser engraving, causing inaccurate positioning or affecting engraving quality, you can solve this problem by adjusting the following parameters.

1. Adjust the maximum speed
In LaserGRBL, the "G0" command is used for rapid positioning, typically moving between the "white" areas during the job. By default, these rapid movements occur at the maximum speed set for the machine, which may cause the head to move too fast, especially in high-precision engraving tasks. You can adjust the parameters $110 (X-axis max speed) and $111 (Y-axis max speed) to reduce the machine's maximum movement speed.

2. Adjust the acceleration
In addition to maximum speed, the acceleration setting also affects engraving accuracy. High acceleration can cause inertia issues when the machine changes direction, affecting positioning accuracy. You can adjust $120 (X-axis acceleration) and $121 (Y-axis acceleration) to lower the acceleration, making the machine movements smoother.

3. How to adjust these settings
These parameters can be accessed and modified through the menu "Grbl – Grbl Configuration." Once in the configuration interface, you can adjust these settings to make the machine's movement speed and acceleration more suitable for your engraving needs, improving engraving accuracy and quality.
