Coherent Launches FieldMax Touch Series Bringing Lab-Grade Laser Measurement to the Field and Production Floors

Saxonburg, PA, January 15, 2026 — Global photonics leader Coherent Corp. (NYSE: COHR) today announced the launch of its FieldMax Touch and FieldMax Touch Pro laser power and energy meters. Designed for portability, industrial durability, and high-precision measurement, the new meters aim to meet the growing demand for professional laser diagnostics in manufacturing, quality assurance, R&D, and field service applications.

FieldMax Touch

Replacing the legacy FieldMate and FieldMaxII platforms, the FieldMax Touch series features a 5-inch color touchscreen, Ethernet and USB connectivity, and full compatibility with Coherent’s existing DB25 interface sensors, enabling seamless integration while protecting users’ existing sensor investments.

The FieldMax Touch Pro variant adds pulse-by-pulse energy measurement at up to 1 kHz using pyroelectric sensors, providing high-precision monitoring for applications requiring detailed pulsed laser characterization.

As laser technology becomes increasingly central to industrial production, quality control, research, and service workflows, customers are seeking portable instruments that combine laboratory-grade accuracy, analytics, and connectivity—capabilities not available in previous handheld generations. The FieldMax Touch series extends the measurement integrity and user experience of the LabMax Touch lab console to a portable, field-ready platform.

“FieldMax Touch brings true lab-grade laser diagnostics into the factory and field,” said Torsten Rauch, Senior Vice President of Coherent’s Solid-State Business Unit. “Leveraging decades of Coherent expertise, this platform delivers the measurement reliability our customers expect, now in a compact, network-ready handheld device that standardizes workflows across lab, production, and service teams worldwide.”

The series offers two configurations:

  • FieldMax Touch for laser power measurements
  • FieldMax Touch Pro for both power and 1 kHz energy capture

Shared user interfaces, mounting accessories, and operational workflows simplify deployment across large facilities. These meters complement Coherent’s full sensor portfolio, the LabMax Touch console, and its broad range of industrial, scientific, and instrumentation lasers.

Coherent will showcase the FieldMax Touch series at Photonics West 2026, with general availability scheduled for late January 2026 and initial shipments expected mid-February 2026.
