When using VCutWorks, inaccurate projection may occur, which is generally caused by the following reasons:
1. Inaccurate calibration process
If the reference points are not precisely aligned, the number of calibration points is insufficient, or slight image shifts occur during calibration, overall projection errors may result. During calibration, ensure stable ambient lighting and a clear projected image, and strictly follow the software instructions to align each point accurately rather than relying on visual estimation.
2. Influence of material thickness
Many users perform calibration on an empty table or thin material, while the actual cutting material has a certain thickness. Due to the projection angle of the projector, changes in material height will cause projection displacement. The thicker the material, the more obvious the error, making flat-surface calibration insufficient for real processing conditions.
3. No thickness compensation applied
VCutWorks supports a thickness compensation function, but it is often overlooked. If the actual material thickness is not entered or thickness calibration is not enabled, the system calculates projection positions based on the default height, resulting in inconsistency between the projection and the actual cutting path. The correct approach is to reset the thickness parameters and recalibrate whenever the material thickness changes.
