Doube Engraving

It looks like severe mechanical backlash along the X axis, which is generally due to a loose screw somewhere between the stepper motor shaft and the laser head or, sometimes, an overly slack drive belt.
Work your way through the mechanics with an eye toward finding anything that’s even slightly loose or moves easily by hand with the motors stopped.
