Recently, Confluence Networks LLC has announced a long-term partnership agreement with Laser Light Communications Inc., a developer and provider of software controlled optical network services.

According to the agreement, Laser Light will adopt Confluence-1 submarine fiber optic network, which Confluence Networks is about to launch, as the core part of its global network. The protocol will last for 25 years and has a total value of over 20 million US dollars.

The Confluence-1 submarine fiber optic network plan includes 24 pairs of fibers, with an estimated total available capacity of over 1800 Tbps, achieving 60 direct point-to-point connections. This network will serve as a key element for Laser Light's global land and seabed network deployment, and is expected to be fully operational in 2026, laying the foundation for the delivery and integration of optical satellite constellations in the first quarter of 2027.

The project will connect the major global network centers on the East Coast of the United States, with a specific route extending directly from Wall, New Jersey to Boca Raton, Florida, spanning approximately 1935 kilometers (1200 miles), and having three intermediate landing points: Virginia Beach, Virginia, Merkel Beach, South Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida. Confluence-1 aims to serve as an alternative to the existing ground level lines of the I-95 corridor and promote seamless interconnection of international cable systems connecting South America and Europe.

Paul Scott, CEO of Confluence Networks, said, "We are honored to collaborate with the innovators of Laser Light. We each offer unique alternative solutions to our existing networks, which will enhance user choices in our respective markets. We look forward to establishing a strong and mutually beneficial working relationship."

Bob Brumley, CEO of Laser Light, also expressed positive views on this collaboration: "Confluence-1 provides a unique East Coast transmission alternative and is an ideal choice for Laser Light. We are able to switch optical levels between cable landings on the Confluence system, which will enable us to quickly respond to atmospheric conditions on the East Coast that may affect optical transmission between our satellites. The collaboration between the two companies has also brought the North American coastline closer, reducing delays domestically and globally."
